Aoki has become licensed to offer a JAPANESE BOATING LICENSE

1-kyu: 5 day course: Yen 147,180.
2-kyu: 4 day course: Yen 123,850.

This is a good option and a positive move forward for us.

Leaving Japan By Boat

Ahoy!

I'm keen to hear from any boats leaving Japan in March/April next year. I will sail to anywhere. Alaska. Hawaii. Wherever. I don't care. I just wanna be on a boat.
I have my own 45ft ketch in Mexico; but given that the hurricane season is from June to November, I thought it a good idea to make my way to Mexico via hopping on other boats.
I will have no time restrictions because come March I will be fully retired.

I'm aware that finding a boat leaving Japan is probably not going to happen because the cruising community is rather small here, so I am also keen to hear of boats in South East Asia and/or New Zealand/Australia, who might be looking for crew for any length of voyage. I am up for anything. I need to get more experience before I start my own journey.

You can contact me at ferroever@gmail.com if you have any leads.
Thanks in advance for any information y'all can send my way.

Maria

Class 2 Small Vessel Operator's exam will be October 22.
I think Bliss has interviewed 3 clients (Dave, Ken, and Mark) interested in Class 2 and 1 (Mark II) for Class 1.
If I've missed you, please remind me. If you want to join the Class 2 group, please let me know (no additional Class 1, sorry).
Remember we need at least 5 to get the test in Osaka.
Bliss has a limited number of set of materials on hand but additional materials can be produced.
Complete information (including practice tests) is available on the 'JUKU' side of www.bliss-osaka.info.
Cheers, Bill

The answer is YES. You must present your military certificates in lieu of an alien registration card. I'd advise a trip to the office to verify this informatiln...

Can a U.S. service member living in Japan under the Status of ForcesAgreement and not required to have an alien registration certificate(gaikokujin torokusho) get a Class 2 Small Boat Operator's License?

He mentioned that some other bloke suggested that a house was really a very poorly designed boat...
Just thought I'd pass that along...

You might try contacting New Japan Yachts who've been building the Yamaha range of yachts since 2002.
I know your yacht is older, but they speak English there, and are likely to be able to help you source parts...

That you, Bill?
Figure so. Send me a link to the ASA book on Amazon and I'll get it posted.

Have fun in Tokyo.

(If you feel like it, take a bunch of photos at the marinas you visit. It'd be good to add them over here in the gallery)

Shout out to you, Crip.
I'm playing in Tokyo for a few days and I'm using SJ to get addresses and stuff. Visiting JMRA today, Yokohama marinas Saturday.
I'll be adding a page on my ASA site directing new students to buy their textbook through your Amazon link. ASA is updating their text and I don't intend to keep a stock...
Anyway, just wanted to say the old guy appreciates your site. Now, if I don't get lost in this village...

I will be taking a basic sailing course offered by the U.S. Naval Association. I was wondering if there is any other training offered in the Hiroshima area. Also, I will be taking a one month vacation in August. Could anybody offer me some training on their boat. Thanks.
