Getting a licence to sail
Boating is a growing sport for foreigners in Japan. However, the Ministry of Transportation requires every pilot of a small recreational vessel (less that 20 tons) and powered by an engine to hold a license. A national exam is offered to meet the requirements of the license.
Bill Payne of BLISS sailing school, has prepared documents that will help you to study for the Small Vessel Operator’s License (2kyu) test.
